Picturing the future of pork
3-4 June 2009
The European and global pork industry has gone through some unprecedented times lately, as pork producers find it difficult to make a meaningful living as we enter a global recession.
This situation presents challenges that the industry as a whole - right through to retail - must rise to and find positive ways forward. And "positive" is the key word because, while other sectors are hanging their heads, it's worth reminding ourselves that per capita consumption of pork in Europe is expected to grow, as animal protein is a key component of the human diet and pork is one of the cheapest animal proteins to produce.
So Sealed Air Cryovac has organised this special event to offer top management in processing and retail a unique opportunity to acquire a comprehensive update on current and potential new developments in the marketplace and to demonstrate viable options for a profitable return on their investments.
The range of topics under discussion will range from pig production to fresh pork consumption trends at retail and will present a global outlook. The programme will embrace global presenters, round-table discussions, an optional supermarket tour plus workshops on different aspects of the pork industry.
