EFSA WITH NEW SCIENTIFIC PANEL MEMBERS
In June ESFA announced almost 200 members of the Scientific Committee and the Panels. More than half of the scientists were already serving the EFSA before.
The steering committee consist of 5 people. The former three key people Chair Prof Silano and the Vice Chairs Mr Le Neindre and Mrs Knapp will remain on the Committee and will be joined by two newcomers from Norway and Germany.
Among the other panels, the AFC which deals with additives and food contact materials consists of 20 scientists, mainly deriving from National Food Agencies and Universities together with representatives from the Food Industry.
All panel members are asked to make their declarations of interest after the first panel meeting, which took place in June. The complete lists of scientific panels and committees can be found on the ESFA website.
